As many gamers have heard by now, Nintendo has a smartphone game in the works, their first actually, called Miitomo. The game is pegged for a release this coming March and for those of you who are curious as to how the game will play, the good news is that sign-ups for the game are now live.
As the game has yet to be released, the sign-ups are merely for users to register their interest. Once the game has been released, they will be notified of its availability and will be able to go ahead and download it. Even if you aren’t interested in the Miitomo, Nintendo has announced that gamers who sign up for a Nintendo Account before the game’s launch will get Platinum Points that will go towards the new My Nintendo rewards program.
For those who are learning about this for the first time, the Miitomo is a social game. We have likened the game to other titles like The Sims where players get to create an avatar in the virtual world and interact with other gamers that Nintendo thinks might be a good fit for them. We know it’s an odd choice especially when Nintendo is finally launching their first official mobile game, but to be fair it could end up being really fun.
However the good news is that Nintendo also promised that future titles are expected to contain more popular characters, so if Miitomo isn’t for you, fret not as future Nintendo titles should be more familiar to you guys. In the meantime to register your interest, hit up the Miitomo website and leave your email address.
