When it comes to Windows 10 Mobile devices, so far it’s safe to say that Microsoft is probably the largest manufacturer of such phones (obviously so). However it seems that Microsoft could be getting an ally soon in the form of Xiaomi. According to the rumors, Xiaomi is said to be working on a Windows 10 Mobile version of the Mi 5.
Now this shouldn’t really come as a much of a surprise. In an announcement last year, it was revealed that Xiaomi was working with Microsoft on testing Windows 10 on handsets that weren’t of the Lumia family, so we guess Xiaomi launching a Windows 10 handset of their own isn’t really that stretch of the imagination.
For those unfamiliar, the Mi 5 is said to be Xiaomi’s next flagship smartphone. In fact just a few days ago, Xiaomi sent out invites to an event for the 24th of February where it was suggested that the phone will be officially announced. Then again this is right smack during MWC 2016, so we guess it is to be expected.
The Mi 5 is said to pack a Snapdragon 820 chipset, a fingerprint sensor, and NFC, just to name some of its features. It is unclear if its Windows 10 variant will sport the same hardware, but check back with us during MWC later this month for the details.
