If you have an inkling that your little one has a more artistic bent to his or her life, then you might want to start gearing up financially for the ThingMaker as it ships later this fall for $300 a pop, and pre-orders are being taken even today. It looks like this can also make for a decent Christmas present at the end of the year for those who love to plan way ahead.
The new ThingMaker would churn out items in a similar manner to that of other 3D printers, where it will even lock the printing door when it is working, while retracting the printing head once a job is over, so that children will not end up burning themselves. Targeting those who are at least 13 years of age, the printed objects have been rated to be safe for those who are three and above. This looks like it goes well hand-in-hand with the updated View-Master DLX this fall.
