Tim Cook On Apple Car: It’s Going To Be Christmas Eve For A While

tim-cookEarlier this week, the closest thing we’ve gotten to confirmation that Apple is building a car of their own was when Apple’s CEO Tim Cook acknowledged that the company was simply exploring the idea. However it seems that his answer wasn’t good enough because during the company’s annual shareholder meeting on Friday, Cook was asked again about the rumored Apple Car.

Unfortunately his answer the second time around wasn’t particularly optimistic either, which means that if you are hoping to see an Apple Car in the near future, you might be disappointed. Cook’s answer to the question reads, “Do you remember when you were a kid, and Christmas Eve it was so exciting, you weren’t sure what was going to be downstairs? Well, it’s going to be Christmas Eve for a while.”

That being said, we guess it shouldn’t really be a surprise. After all Apple isn’t exactly a car company, and neither do they have the facilities to make one themselves. This means that if they were to put one together, they would need to lay a lot of foundation which could take a lot of time. In fact last year it was suggested that at the earlier, an Apple Car would probably be ready in 2020.

So far Apple has been on a bit of a hiring spree for employees that have automobile-related backgrounds and experiences. Some of Apple’s popular hires have come from Tesla, along with other companies like Fiat Chrysler.
