lg_g5_invite_mwcBack in January, LG confirmed their presence at MWC 2016, and just yesterday, LG also confirmed that the LG G5 will be officially announced on the 21st of February, which is when they will be hosting their press conference at MWC 2016. So far not much is known about the LG G5, save for rumors and speculation.

However it looks like LG’s recent batch of invites might have clued us in to one of its possible features. As you can see in the image, LG’s most recent MWC invites are brightly colored. This has led to speculation that perhaps LG could be making a switch to OLED screens for the LG G5, with one of the properties of OLED screens being that it helps colors “pop”, at least compared to LCD which offers a more “natural” look.

It has also been suggested that the kid-like images and design might also indicate that the phone could have some kind of appeal to children, although that would be odd since the LG G-series has never really been a kid-centric kind of device. In any case this is just pure speculation, but we’d like to think that LG is trying to hint at something with these wacky and colorful new invites, but what say you? Are we reading too much into it?
