Earlier in January, LG started to send out invites to its press conference for the 21st of February at MWC 2016. While it was speculated at that time that this would be the official unveiling of the LG G5, it has now been confirmed by LG themselves on Twitter. The company has confirmed with a series of images containing the number “5” that the 21st of February will see the handset officially unveiled.
Unfortunately its design and specs were not confirmed, which means that it’s still anyone’s guess as to what kind of specs LG will be packing under the hood. However based on what we have heard, the LG G5 is expected to sport an entirely brand new design that will be a bit of a departure from its previous designs, which we guess is a good thing since shaking things up every now and then isn’t a bad idea.
One of the handset’s rumored unique features is its battery, which can apparently slide out. We’re not sure if there’s more functionality to this feature, but it has been said that the slide out feature is one of its selling points. Perhaps it could be modular in which users can swap it out for something more than a battery, who knows? In any case we will be at MWC 2016, so if you are considering the LG G5 as your next potential handset, do check back with us then for the updates and official details.
