LG is coming to MWC 2016 with a suite of innovative accessories for its LG G5 smartphone. VR headsets are trendy nowadays, however, they are bulky and not very practical to wear while commuting or in the plane.
The LG 360 VR is the most compact and stylish headset VR we have seen to date, you can almost look “normal” wearing it in public. At 118 g (4.16 ounces), the VR goggles weigh one-third the weight of competing devices. The LG 360 VR is foldable, so users can easily carry it everywhere to enjoy immersive content on the go, which simulates a 130-inch TV viewed from 2 meters away. It works exclusively with the LG G5 that connects to the LG 360 VR via a USB type C cable. The system delivers a 639 ppi image resolution, and is compatible with 360-degree images and videos captured with LG 360 CAM as well as all Google Cardboard content.
To create content for the LG 360 VR, you can use the ultra-compact LG 360 CAM, that features two 13 MP 200 degrees wide angle cameras. The ultra-light shooter captures 2K video and 5.1 surround sounds from three microphones to deliver immersive 360-degree content. You can upload your 360 CAM movies to Google Street View and YouTube360, or you can view them on the LG 360 VR.
The clips can be stored locally, thanks to the 4GB internal memory that can be extended by a microSD card. The battery capacity is 1200mAh and LG did not share how long you can shoot in a single charge
