Lenovo has unveiled the VIBE K5/K5 Plus at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona. The device has been designed for multimedia enthusiasts who may not want to spend a lot of money on a smartphone. Lenovo promises that customers will be getting an affordable phone that doesn’t sacrifice performance.
The Lenovo VIBE K5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 octa-core processor while the K5 Plus has a Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor. Both handsets have 2GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage with microSD support, dual-SIM slots with 4G connectivity and a 2750mAh battery.
Both handsets have a 5 inch display with 1280×720 pixel resolution on the K5 and 1920×1020 pixel resolution on the K5 Plus. A 13 megapixel rear camera with a 5-piece lens and a 5-megapixel front camera with a 4-piece lens is onboard as well.
The Lenovo VIBE K5 is priced at $129 and the K5 Plus at $149 so, for that extra $20, you’re getting a slightly better processor and full HD display resolution. The company is going to start selling this handset later this month in platinum silver, graphite gray and champagne gold colors.
