While there were unofficial reports going on concerning multiple account switching on Instagram being tested out on the iOS platform, the folks over at Instagram have not stepped forward to confirm or deny such a thing – not at least until now. It looks like an Instagram spokesperson has shared briefly on the matter, “We are always testing new features within our community.” I guess we are still in the dark as to how many actual users are actually able to take advantage of this feature on their iOS app as at press time.
The news sounds promising though, as the expansion of such tests to a different platform does depict the company’s poise and readiness in making account switching an officially supported feature some time down the road. The only frustrating thing is, we do not know just for how much longer one will have to wait.
Casual Instagram users would not think too much about switching between multiple accounts, although there will be segments of the Instagram community, perhaps the young adults specifically, who would find this feature to be an essential part of their social media life, since many of them now own multiple accounts for reasons only known to them.
