HTC announced the high-end Vive virtual reality headset last year and it has already shipped two iterations of the headset to developers. At Mobile World Congress 2016 the company confirmed how much the Vive is going to cost and when it’s going to be released. The company has now confirmed HTC Vive UK price as well and since this is a high-end product the price is obviously high.
HTC Vive UK price has been set at £689, this includes the virtual reality headset, controllers and external sensors for location-tracking and room mapping. It’s expensive than the Oculus Rift headset but that was to be expected given the difference between the hardware of these VR headsets.
Customers in the United Kingdom who pre-order the HTC Vive will also receive Google’s Tilt Brush as part of the bundle. This offer is only available for a limited time and to those who pre-order the headset. Pre-orders open tomorrow ahead of the release on April 5th.
HTC is going to start taking pre-orders for the Vive in the United States from tomorrow as well. It promises delivery by April. At $799 it’s $200 expensive than the Rift but remains well in the range of high-end games who have an open mind about VR headsets.
