However if you are in the camp that thinks it’s a nifty feature and not necessarily an invasion of your privacy, you will be pleased to learn that in an update to Google Maps for Android, Google has updated the timeline feature to mobile. The timeline feature was made available last year, but this update will introduce new features.
Users will now be able to add locations manually to their timeline, so for example if you were at a place that wasn’t marked on Google Maps, you can add it along with a name and the time that you were there. It might also be useful if Google Maps has somehow marked the wrong location as well. This might be handy if you travel a lot and want to keep track of where you’ve been.
Prior to this, these features were only available to the web version of Google Maps, so it’s nice to see that Google is bringing more of its desktop features onto mobile.
