Earlier this week, we did bring you word on what the latest Google Maps update (version 9.20.0) offered for users, and one of it was the ability for users to add places to their timeline – assuming you are not a paranoid android and do not think that you are being tracked with such information divulged. Well, it seems that there is more than what has been revealed that meets the eye with this particular update, and one feature that should have been there right from the very beginning has been implemented – the ability to disable voice guidance while you are driving and attending to a hands-free call.
We all know the drill – having someone speak out instructions while we are trying to have a conversation is downright irritating, and at the very least this will be a thing of the past, despite voice guidance as a feature in Google Maps being an essential tool just in case the likes of Waze fail to function.
In order to disable voice guidance feature while you carry out a conversation with someone else on the line, you will need to boot up the Google Maps app, pick the 3-line menu that is located in the upper left corner of the display, head on to Settings > Navigation settings > Play voice during phone calls, before un-ticking the box, and you’re good to go.
