According to a new post by Orrin on Google’s help forum, it seems that Google has figured out what has caused the problem and has rolled out a fix for it. It also seems that this problem could be server-side as Orrin has stated that there will not be any action required from the user, meaning that you don’t need to download an updated Gmail app.
The post reads, “Thanks again for your patience on this while the team investigated the issue. I’m happy to announce that a fix has started to roll out. This fix requires no action, and will roll out globally over the next week.” So if you are one of those affected by this problem, then you might want to keep an eye on your emails in the coming week.
As the post points out, it will be rolled out over the course of next week, so if you don’t see any changes yet, fret not as it should eventually get fixed for you as well.
