Unfortunately it looks like Samsung will not be hopping on that bandwagon anytime soon. According to recent photos posted by Steve Hemmerstoffer, it looks like the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 will not sport a USB Type-C connection. Instead, as you can see in the photo above, the handset will pack a regular micro USB port.
Now this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Micro USB is still very much in use and many users probably still have micro USB cables lying around, meaning that it makes things easier and more convenient. However for those who were hoping that Samsung would adopt the USB Type-C standard, that does not appear to be happening with the Galaxy S7.
It is possible that Samsung will change their minds further down the line like with the Galaxy Note 6, but in the meantime we guess you probably shouldn’t hold your breath, but what do you guys think? Would you have preferred the Type-C port on the Galaxy S7?
