The good news is that according to a report from TalkAndroid, that is exactly what Samsung will be doing with the Galaxy S7. According to their source, Samsung is reportedly cleaning up its software for the Galaxy S7. While we expect that Samsung will still try to differentiate themselves, it will be toned down considerably.
This means that the phone won’t be bogged down by unnecessary pieces of software. The report claims that the only bundled software we can expect from Samsung includes a browser, file manager, music player, video player, gallery, and voice recorder. This is quite a change considering that say 2-3 years ago, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI was probably one of the more disliked UIs for Android and used to be lambasted for its lagginess.
In addition to cleaning up the software, apparently Samsung will also be including some of Marshmallow’s best features, like Doze that helps to preserve the battery life on your phone. Now we can’t confirm any of this yet, but either way do check back with us this coming Sunday where the phone will be officially revealed.
