Samsung Galaxy Note Rumored To Sport 6GB Of RAM

Right now finding smartphones with 4GB of RAM is relatively common. However the question is, do we even need that much RAM? Some have argued that maybe we are going a bit overboard in our quest to cram as much tech into as small a device as possible, and if you are of that camp, you probably won’t like what you’re about to hear next.

According to recent rumors out of China, it has been suggested that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will sport a whopping 6GB of RAM. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5, came with 4GB of RAM, so a leap to 6GB does seem pretty big, not to mention a bit excessive since we’re pretty sure not everyone will have the need for that much RAM.

Other rumored specs of the upcoming phone include a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED display with a 2560×1440 resolution, which is interesting since we would have thought that if anything, Samsung would at least bump the resolution to 4K or at least more than what the Galaxy Note 5 is packing.

The phone is also said to feature a 12MP camera with OIS, and will come in two SoC configurations which we can only assume means one model will have an Exynos chipset, while the other will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Is 6GB overkill?
