According to the sighting, it reveals the Galaxy A9 Pro whose model number is SM-A9100. Considering that the Galaxy A9 is SM-A9000, we suppose A9100 would signify some kind of upgrade/variation. Interestingly enough, the “Pro” version of the phone has turned out to be smaller than the regular A9.
If the benchmarks are correct, the Pro version will sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display, versus the Galaxy A9 which has a 6-inch display. We’re not sure how this would make it a “Pro”, but perhaps this is a prototype. Or maybe for all we know, the benchmarks could have been faked, which is entirely possible.
Other specs of the phone include a Snapdragon 652 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. It will also see an upgrade to 4GB of RAM versus the 3GB found in the regular A9. There is a possible 16MP rear-facing camera, and a possible 8MP front-facing camera, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will be calling the shots. No word on when the phone will be launched, but maybe we’ll learn more at MWC 2016.
