Now according to a report from Fuji Rumors, it seems that the X100T’s successor might not even be of the X100 series anymore. According to them, the camera will be known as the X200 and it will be launching pretty soon, as in the second half of 2016. Given that the X100T was launched in 2014, we suppose 2 years for a successor sounds about right.
The rumors go on to claim that the X200 will feature a 24MP sensor similar to that of the X-Pro2, an enhanced hybrid viewfinder with a better refresh rate, a digital converter 35/50, a tiltscreen, and a new 28mm lens, which is similar to that of the recently announced X70. This is interesting as the X100T had a 23mm lens, which actually makes for a pretty good street photography lens, so the jump to 28mm might not sit well with some.
However it does seem to be in line with an earlier rumor that suggested that the X100T’s successor would sport a new lens. In any case it’s best taken with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Are these specs and features worthy of the successor to the X100T?
