The Fujifilm X-Pro2 was officially announced last month, and so far based on initial reviews of the camera, many photographers are pretty taken with Fujifilm’s latest mirrorless camera. Now for those who were excited for the device and wanted to get their hands on it, you guys were probably anticipating its February release.
Unfortunately it looks like that will no longer be happen. According to a statement issued by Fujifilm (via Fuji Rumors), it seems that the camera has since been delayed to March. The statement (which is translated from Japanese) has indicated that apparently there as a delay in production due to orders exceeding what they had initially thought.
According to the statement, “We get some of the delay in production. In addition, orders more than expected from all over the world has also received, in order to ensure a sufficient supply amount, we will be allowed to postpone the release date to early March.”
However according to Fuji Rumors, they have heard that there were some firmware issues that Fujifilm wants to address ahead of its release, so it is possible that software could have been one of the contributing factors, but this has not yet been confirmed. In any case we guess customers will just have to wait. In the meantime the camera is priced at $1,700 for the body-only, and the camera can still be pre-ordered via retailers, just expect a later shipping date.
