FCC Filing Hints At Galaxy S7 Edge’s 3,600mAh Battery

A rumor from a couple of weeks ago suggested that the upcoming Galaxy S7 will sport a pretty big battery. How do we know this? According to the rumor, it claimed that the Galaxy S7 is capable of over 17 hours of video playback at maximum brightness. If that doesn’t scream big battery, we don’t know what does.

So does this apply to the Galaxy S7 Edge too? If the latest report is to be believed, it could pack an even bigger battery. According to the folks at 9to5Google, they have come across an FCC filing for the upcoming Galaxy S7 Edge, and according to the filing, it has also been revealed that the phone will pack a 3,600mAh battery.

As it stands, the Nexus 6P sports one of the largest batteries available for Android phones with its 3,450mAh battery which is pretty respectable, so if this screenshot is any accurate, it would make the Galaxy S7 Edge the top contender. Of course whether or not Samsung is able to optimize the phone to get the most out of its battery is a different story, but at least on paper it sounds pretty promising.

As for the Galaxy S7, while it is unclear as to how big a battery it could pack, it has been rumored to sport a 3,000mAh battery. It is still pretty sizable and decent, but if battery life is your topmost priority, then maybe the Galaxy S7 Edge could be a better choice.
