Details were sparse at that time, but now during MWC 2016, it looks like Facebook has confirmed that the game will be arriving for the Oculus Rift platform. This was revealed during Mark Zuckerberg’s surprise appearance during Samsung’s press conference at MWC in which he talked about virtual reality, and its importance.
According to Zuckerberg, “VR is the next platform, where anyone can create and experience anything they want. For right now, it’s mostly used for gaming. That’s quickly evolving. That’s why Facebook is investing so much in VR, so we can deliver these new social experiences. VR is going to be the next social platform. And that’s why we’re working with Samsung.”
It was also revealed that they were teaming up with Samsung to help load virtual reality videos on the Gear VR headset faster through a feature called dynamic streaming, which is basically where multiple resolutions of a video are loaded, and only the area you are viewing will have the high-resolution content.
