If you ever thought about picking up an Oculus Rift, but never really managed to convince yourself to do so, perhaps hearing of this exclusive card battler known as Dragon Front might just prove to be the right tonic in tipping your decision in the right manner. In fact, it could prove to be a legitimate challenger to Hearthstone, too!
High Voltage Software is the developer behind this collectible card game known as Dragon Front, where the game would play in a similar manner as that of Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, save for the fact that you will play it within a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. It is a big step for the game genre as it is a test case that concerns the VR market, which is tipped by Digi-Capital to hit the $30 billion revenue as an industry by the time 2020 arrives.
High Voltage will be published by Oculus as a first-party title, and it has taken more than 18 months to develop for the VR environment. Do expect High Voltage to be made available for beta testing purposes in the second quarter of the year, which is some time after the Oculus Rift has launched on the 28th of March. Would you be interested, and if it does not work out, at least there is always Minecraft to fall back on.
