With the amount of Coca-Cola that is consumed every year, it also means that there are a lot of packaging and Coca-Cola cartons that get thrown away. While recycling is a possibility, what about reusing them? Turns out Coca-Cola has a potential idea for its packaging, and that is to turn it into a Google Cardboard virtual reality headset.
As you can see in the video above, it shows the company demonstrating how its Coca-Cola packaging could potentially be reused and repurposed as a VR headset. Given that Google has pretty much put up instructions to the Cardboard on its website and how we’ve seen other companies come up with similar third-party solutions, we suppose this wouldn’t really be a stretch.
However note that this is just a concept and that Coca-Cola isn’t actually going to start bundle Cardboard equipment and instructions with its drinks in the future. Maybe they will if the response is great, but for now it is just an idea that they are exploring. Who knows, maybe drink packaging and cereal boxes transforming into VR headsets could be the new “cereal box toy” of the next-generation, but what do you guys think? Would you like to see more companies adopt similar offerings?
