For those unfamiliar with the camera, basically it allows the user to see in complete darkness as objects are identified by their heat signature, so you could think of it as Predator’s heat sensing vision, except for your phone. Like we said, chances are not many of us would need such a camera, but if you do, the S60 has it there.
Given that Cat is known for their rugged devices, the S60 is no exception. It features a strengthened die cast steel frame that exceeds the military’s 810G drop test. It sports a Gorilla Glass 4 display, and water resistance of up to 16 feet where it can operate for up to an hour. Presumably if you are diving and want to see where you are going, the handset’s camera could do the trick.
In terms of specs, it’s not particularly fancy. It comes with a Snapdragon octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch display 720p HD display, Bluetooth, NFC, and will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is priced at $599 and is expected to be available this June.
