Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was released late last year and it hit the ground running. Soon after the launch, Activision announced that Black Ops 3 had pulled in $550 million in global sales within the first three days of its release. Clearly there are many who were willing to pay for this game, if you’re on the fence and would first like to try the game before paying for it, you will want to take advantage of the fact that Black Ops 3 is free to play on PC this entire weekend.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is free on Steam this weekend. It merits mentioning here that the free to play offer is only on the multiplayer starter pack of this game.
The multiplayer starter pack is a watered down version of Black Ops 3 which doesn’t include the single-player campaign nor the co-op zombies mode. Prestige levels, custom multiplayer games and mod tools are not included as well.
Nevertheless, PC games get access to much of the multiplayer experience of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which is an interesting experience in itself since it brings some interesting changes to multiplayer gameplay.
You’re out of luck if you’re a console gamer and would like to first try Black Ops 3. The multiplayer starter pack is only available for free to PC gamers and that too for the remainder of this weekend. Better hurry.
