Brita’s water filtration systems are quite popular with people who are very particular about the quality of water that they consume. In this day and age when every mundane object is being hooked up to the internet and called “smart,” it was only a matter of time before the same treatment was given to water pitchers as well. Introducing Brita’s new Wi-Fi enabled Infinity Pitcher that’s capable of automatically ordering new filters from Amazon.
If you use a Brita filtration system regularly then you must have found yourself in a situation when you’re out of filters and need to order new ones. While that can easily be done via Amazon’s mobile app and wouldn’t take more than the time it takes for you to finish a glass of water, Amazon and Brita want to make the process even easier.
In comes the Wi-Fi enabled Brita Infinity pitcher. It has a built-in counter which tracks the amount of water that passes through the pitcher’s filter. When the old filter nears it capacity the pitcher will automatically order a replacement through Amazon Dash Replenishment.
Amazon Dash Replenishment is a new service by the online retail giant which automates the ordering process of products that many of us use and often forget to order. The service is already supported on select Samsung and Brothers printers and will soon support a host of other devices.
The new Brita Infinity Pitcher is available for purchase from Amazon for $44.99.
