Drones Armed With Bazookas Are Very Real

We all know that drones in the hands of amateurs can be a rather dangerous tool, especially since there has been instances of a drone causing a toddler to lose an eye after crashing into him, not to mention being a danger to babies as well. Having said that, it looks like a new kind of drone has emerged from Russia – one that carries a bazooka.

You can check out the new video above that hails from Russian arms manufacturer United Instrument Manufacturing Corporation (UIMC), where it depicts an aerial drone that goes after targets while carrying anti-tank rockets. This unique Russian multicopter can be controlled remotely within a three mile radius, sporting a flight time of twenty minutes which is far more than what a standard commercial drone offers.

The rocket launcher it is armed with remains unspecified, although it could very well be a kind of weapon that is already available at the moment. Sergey Skokov, Deputy CEO of UIMC, shared, “The flying robots were designed to observe distant objects, record video and still images including thermal imaging, transmit video in real time, deliver goods to a specified point, and destroy enemy targets on the battlefield.”

War on the battlefield will never be the same ever again, but what happens should these drones be hacked – can such weapons then be turned back on its original owners?
