Earlier this year, we brought you word on how new Barbies are set to arrive in a range of body shapes that would better represent the general populace, rather than to have those really, really skinny and nigh impossible proportions to live up to. Well, it looks like Mattel has decided to update the Barbie line as well, giving this adventurous girl an up-to-date drone-flying hoverboard.
Yes, you read that right, Barbie has upped the ante in terms of providing an adrenaline rush by revealing a hoverboard at the 2016 International Toy Fair in New York. This new doll is known as Barbie Star Light Adventure RC Hoverboard, where the pilot would make use of a joystick as well as sliding level to adjust the flying height. A quartet of propellers will do their bit to ensure that the toy is lifted up to the air via an automatic feature that enables the drone to take off and land with a single press of a button, making it as dummy proof as possible. While there are no open propellers to cut one’s eyeball in half, this toy should still be flown under supervision. We do wonder whether one will have to register this drone with the FAA though.
The Barbie Star Light Adventure RC Hoverboard will arrive later this fall for $59.99 a pop.
