Are selfies bad or wrong? Inherently they are not, but like we have said time and time again, there is a time and place to take selfies, and knowing when not to take a selfie is key. We have heard about numerous accidents and even deaths as a result of inappropriate selfies, and this time it looks like selfies have caused death again, except this time to a baby dolphin.
According to reports, it seems that over in Argentina, a baby Franciscana dolphin was scooped out of the water by tourists at the beach who wanted to take a selfie with it. As you can see in the photo above, it shows how the baby dolphin managed to draw quite a crowd in which many were reaching for it and grabbing at it in an attempt to take a selfie of their own.
Unfortunately it seems that due to the mishandling and the fact that it was kept out of the water for an extended period of time, the baby dolphin died. Apparently this is because the Franciscana dolphins have thick and greasy skin that makes them prone to overheating when they remain out of the water for too long, like in this case.
To top things off, it seems that the Franciscana dolphins are considered to be an endangered species which means that ironically for the sake of documenting it, these tourists have killed it. Like we have said people, time and place, time and place.
