Aston Martin And Chinese Company To Develop Electric Car

The electric car market looks set to be even more exciting with Aston Martin having signed an agreement with a Chinese company in order to develop a luxury electric car. This could very well be a mark of China flexing their muscles in the automotive market where electric vehicles are concerned. The British firm has signed a deal with LeEco, a Beijing-based tech firm, in order to roll out the RapidE electric car by the time 2018 rolls around.

The Aston-LeEco joint statement also did not discount the possibility of working on a Faraday Future vehicle some time down the road. Ding Lei, global vice chairman of the division creating electric car systems, shared that the company is “dedicated to build electric, smart, connected and socialized cars” and that “we have been targeting the highest standard in the auto industry in terms of design, R&D and manufacturing of our electric cars.”

Ah well, we will just have t wait until 2018 to see the fruit of this partnership materialize. In the mean time, you might want to drop $1,000 to reserve Tesla’s most affordable electrical car to date (which costs around $25,000 after rebates), which is the Tesla Model 3. For those who are on a tighter budget, your child could be cruising in a $499 Tesla instead.
