Apple Music Search Not Working For Many Users

Allowing users to discover new music is one of the fundamental features of a music streaming service. That feature won’t really do much for users if they’re unable to search for new music in the app. Many users have taken to social media today to complain that Apple Music search is not working, typing in the search field inside the app returns no results, making it impractical to use the service in the first place.

In some cases even if the search query does return results tapping on a result simply brings up an empty screen and that’s really of no use at all to users. Many have voiced their displeasure over Apple Music search not working on Twitter and Apple’s official support forums.

It appears that this issue might have begun overnight and so far there’s no indication of when and how it’s going to be fixed. Naturally this seriously affects the user experience since without a search feature users can’t find specific tracks, artists or albums and they’re stuck listing to either radio stations or their existing music collections.

Apple’s System Status page doesn’t show any issues with the music streaming service but from the looks of it, this appears to be a glitch with Apple’s Music’s servers. I should mention here that last week Safari kept crashing as well due to a glitch with the browser’s search suggestion feature, Apple made a server-side fix for that issue.
