According to a report from The New York Times (via MacRumors), Apple is apparently working on upping its security game for its iOS devices, so much so to the point where it will be so secure that even Apple themselves will not be able to hack it. We can only assume that this will dissuade law enforcement from asking for similar requests in the future.
After all, if the company that made the product can’t even hack into it, who’s to say that law enforcement can? That being said, it is unclear as to what Apple might be trying to do, but we suppose from an end-user point of view, the extra security is probably welcome as it also means that it should be harder for hackers to hack your device.
In the meantime Apple is challenging the court’s orders and have reportedly appealed to Congress to make the decision for them, hoping that with their $5 million spent in lobbying last year will give them the edge they need.
