A couple of days ago, we reported that Verizon’s Droid Turbo 2 underwent a soak test for the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Now if you weren’t part of that test and you were looking forward to the update, it seems that the test did not run for particularly long because it looks like Verizon has since started rolling out the update in earnest.
According to Verizon, “Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a software update for your device. This software update has been tested to optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply the latest security patches.” The update is rolling out as well and appears to be coming in two parts.
One will bump the phone to Android 6.0, while the other will bump the phone’s software to version 24.14.10, but either way this is the Marshmallow update that users have probably been waiting for. Based on Verizon’s description, the update will bring about a host of features that we have come to expect from Marshmallow, so that’s definitely worth looking forward to.
We expect that the update will be pushed out over the course of the next few days or weeks, so if you own the Droid Turbo 2 but don’t see the notification informing you about the update, then check back in the next few days as you should be able to get it by then.
