It seems that not one, but two smartphones have been leaked in full by Alcatel – the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 4 as well as the Idol 4S. Alcatel has done a pretty decent job by themselves when it comes to smartphones that occupy the mid-range tier, and it looks like they are going to continue to build on that strength. In fact, out of the two models leaked, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 4 would be the smaller one, arriving with a 5.2” display that has a resolution count of 1080 by 1920 pixels.
Underneath the hood, you will find a Snapdragon 617 SoC that sports a quartet of ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz, another four A53 cores clocked at 1.2GHz, a choice of either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, a 13MP shooter at the back, an 8MP shooter in front, 16GB of internal memory, and a 2160mAh battery.
As for the larger sized Idol 4S, this model will sport a 5.5” AMOLED display with a resolution count of 1440 x 2560 pixels that is impressive to say the least, powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC (octa-core ARM Cortex A53), 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory,a 16MP camera at the back with an 8MP selfie shooter. Since these happen to be rather beefed up versions of their apparent predecessors, it would be surprising if Alcatel were able to maintain the previous price points of $180 and $250, respectively. Perhaps pricing details will be revealed when MWC comes about later this month.
