If you’re in the market for a new smartphone and budget is one of your priorities, then you might be interested in Acer’s new Liquid Zest smartphones. There are two versions that the company will be launching – a regular version and another version with 4G connectivity, but other than that it appears that both phones will pack the same hardware under its hood.
For starters, the Liquid Zest will feature a 5-inch HD IPS display. Just like the recently announced Liquid Jade 2, the display here will also rely on Zero Air Gap technology which basically makes the display legible even under sunlight. It also comes with Acer BluelightShield which allows users to control the amount of blue light emitted by the phone.
Under the hood, the Acer Liquid Zest will be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, while the 4G version will be clocked at 1GHz. Acer did not mention which chipsets they will be using, but we reckon they should still be good enough to get the job done and then some. The phone will also come with DTS Sound Studio and DTS HD Premium Sound for the 4G model.
Camera wise, both devices will be similar. They will pack an 8MP rear-facing f/2.0 camera with a 5MP front-facing camera. They will also both come with Acer’s GameZone presintalled on them. In terms of pricing, the Liquid Zest is priced at €109 while the 4G model is priced at €149, and are both available in April and May respectively in the EMEA regions.
