Yesterday we reported that Sony had begun teasing some kind of Xperia related announcement. It was highly speculated that the announcement might have to do with a new color for a phone, and it looks like we were right as Sony has officially taken the wraps off the Xperia Z5 in pink.
That being said, we have to admit that the pink finish isn’t all too bad. It kind of reminds us of the rose pink finish on the iPhone 6s/6s Plus where it is a soft looking pink, not garish and definitely not an eyesore. However apart from the new coat of paint, the rest of the specs remain exactly the same as the other models.
Note however that this seems to only apply to the regular Xperia Z5, so if you wanted an Xperia Z5 Compact or Premium in this pink finish, you’d be out of luck. In terms of specs, just in case you have forgotten, the Xperia Z5 packs a 5.2-inch Full HD display, and under the hood a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset can be found.
There is 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 23MP rear-facing camera and a 5.1MP front-facing camera. According to lead designer on the project, Rikke Gertsen Constein, “We wanted the colour to appear strong and modern, and here the material is playing an important role. I feel what we have achieved with the light dusky pink is fresh, contemporary and modern in the Z5 materials.” We expect that it will also be priced similar to the other Xperia Z5 models.
