Thousands of people will be present to see the Super Bowl 50 live. Congestion on the cellular network is quite normal in venues where thousands have gathered, making it quite difficult for the digital generation to share some of the many interesting things that they see there. To make sure that this doesn’t happen Verizon has revealed that it’s spending $70 million on network improvements ahead of Super Bowl 50.

The $70 million long-term investment will more than triple 4G LTE wireless data network capacity in the Bay Area for Super Bowl week, this will benefit customers living in and traveling to northern California well into the future as well, with enhanced capacity for browsing, streaming and more.

Verizon has said that hundreds of its employees have worked for more than two years to prepare for Super Bowl 50, improving network performance at more than 10 major area venues from San Francisco to Santa Clara, as well as three major airports and multiple player and NFL hotels.

The carrier will have a special team of 100 technicians and engineers to monitor and manage the network in real-time in San Francisco and in and around Levi’s Stadium to ensure that spectators get the best possible network performance, particularly on Super Sunday.
