Carriers don’t really have the best of reputation when it comes to software updates, their procedures tend to delay updates quite a bit which is one of the reasons why fragmentation is so common in Android. Galaxy Note 4 owners on Verizon have been waiting for a very long time to get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update and finally the carrier is rolling out said update today.

Verizon is the last major carrier in the country to release this update for Galaxy Note 4, Sprint already released it back in August, AT&T came second with an October release and T-Mobile followed suit the very next month.

The carrier did say that it would work hard to have this update ready in time and that it would release Android 5.1.1 for Galaxy Note 4 as soon as possible. Nevertheless, it has taken its sweet time to do this but those who on this device on Verizon will now be more grateful that at least the update has finally arrived.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software version LMY47X.N910VVRU2BOK3 is now rolling out for Galaxy Note 4 on Verizon, it brings support for Android for Work, upgrades to the Samsung Knox security platform and also removes a couple of preloaded applications.

It shouldn’t take long before the OTA update arrives for everybody.
