Touch ID Support For Notes Added In iOS 9.3

We have to admit that we find it odd that after all these years, Apple has not added the option to make the Notes app more secure. It is possible that Apple is assuming that you would have locked your phone and that if you unlocked your phone, it means that you are using the device, so technically it shouldn’t need to secure Notes.

Regardless, iOS users have had to turn to third-party apps for security, but that may no longer be necessary. As part of the upcoming iOS 9.3 update, Apple has revealed that they will finally be securing Notes via Touch ID. Basically, this gives users the option of securing a particular note that they made with Touch ID.

This means that while the rest of your notes might be accessible to whoever’s using your phone, particular notes can only be viewed if authenticated by your fingerprint. This might be handy if you have financial notes that you don’t want anyone else to see, passwords, or contact numbers of certain people you’d rather not have anyone else have access to.

In addition to securing notes, iOS 9.3 has also added a Night Shift feature to help users sleep better at night, and it has also introduced multi-user support for iPads in the education sector. Unfortunately, there is no word on when iOS 9.3 will be released, but these are some of the features that you can look forward to.
