Nowadays considering that we own so many devices that need constant charging, it also means that we are running out of USB ports on our computers to charge these gadgets. It also means that we need to juggle having to choose to charge gadget A or gadget B, or if we should unplug the external HDD just to plug in something else.
Now if you own an iMac and would love a USB hub, there are plenty of options out there that you can choose from, but if you’d rather not have one that’s an eyesore, then this Kickstarter project for a hub called the ExoHub could be worth checking out. As you can see in the video, the ExoHub when integrated with your iMac pretty much “disappears”.
This is thanks to the use of anodized aluminum that will blend in with the iMac’s stand and overall design. Alternatively, if you have a laptop, you’ll be able to use it with the ExoHub as well as there is also an ExoStand that lets you prop up your computer. In terms of ports, the ExoHub will give you an additional 4x USB 3.0 ports, a rapid charger port, and an SDXC card slot.
If this sounds like something you’d love to equip your iMac with, then just head on over to its Kickstarter page where a minimum pledge of $39 will nab you one unit upon its successful funding and production. It is expected to be priced at $49 once it has been released, so this is your chance to save yourself $10.
