As pointed out on the Star Wars website, it has been revealed that the movie has been delayed to December 15, 2017, instead. Granted it’s still showing within the same year, but we can only imagine that the added 7 months delay must be killing fans, but we guess we’d rather have a delayed movie than a rushed one just to meet the deadline, wouldn’t you agree?
There was no reason for the delay, and the message on the website reads, “Today, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII, originally scheduled for release in summer 2017, will now debut on December 15, 2017.” Presumably, as is the case with most delays, extra polish might be needed, but we’re just speculating here.
However, the good news is that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is still set for a release at the end of the year, so fans can look forward to that. In any case until then, fans will just have to keep speculating as to who Rey really is, and if there is any hope for Kylo Ren to be redeemed.
