However the good news is that if you’ve always wanted a desktop version of SoundCloud but didn’t want to leave your browser open, you’re in luck thanks to developer Michael Lancaster. The Chicago-based developer has recently put together a desktop-based app for SoundCloud that lets you listen to the music service via a dedicated app.
Dubbed Soundnode, it seems that Lancaster has decided to make his creation open source. This means that other developers can take his work and essentially modify and add to it and tweak it to their liking, or maybe release an even better version of Soundnode. The app is a free download but note that since this is not an official SoundCloud app, any issues you have with it won’t be solved by SoundCloud themselves.
If you’re interested in getting your hands on the app, which works for Windows, OS X, and Linux (32 and 64-bit), then head on over to its website for the download.
