MWC is coming up and we expect that there will be several announcements that companies will be making at the event. Samsung will most likely be present and while the Galaxy S7 is one of the more highly anticipated devices, we expect that there could be other devices announced, such as wearables.
Now thanks to photos leaked by Tizen Cafe (which have since been taken down), it seems that we have managed to catch a glimpse at what Samsung’s upcoming wearable could look like. As you can see from the photos, the upcoming wearable looks a lot like the Gear S2 smartwatch, although based on previous rumors, the device is said to be more of a fitness tracker.
According to the rumors, the device is known as the Triathlon internally. It will be powered by Tizen and it is expected to share some features of the Gear S2, such as a circular display and a rotating bezel that will be used to control the device. It will come with a heart-rate sensor, but apparently it can also be detached and worn across the wearer’s chest with some kind of accessory.
It will also be able to keep track of activity such as repetitions during the workout, body fat measurement, and can also help users keep track of their water intake. Now take it with a grain of salt for now, but if Samsung were to announce such a device, we reckon MWC is a possible candidate so do check back with us then for the details.
