The Gear S2 smartwatch from Samsung arrived last year, it was one of the most popular smartwatches of 2015, the company surely wants it to stay that way which is why it has been working hard to bring new content to the wearable device. At CES 2016 a couple of weeks ago it also announced two new editions of the smartwatch, it has announced today that the Gear S2 Classic New Edition has now been released.
Samsung says that initially the Gear S2 New Edition units have only been released in China today however they will find their way to other countries around the world in the months to come.
There’s nothing really special about these new editions because they have the same specs and features as the regular Gear S2 Classic models. The only difference is that one of these two units is in 18K Rose Gold and the other in Platinum.
18K Rose Gold Gear S2 Classic comes with an ivory leather band and the Platinum model comes in a black geniune leather band. Aside from these cosmetic differences there’s really no major change between the Gear S2 Classic New Edition or the previous units.
Samsung is yet to confirm when the 18K Rose Gold Gear and Platinum Gear S2 will be released in other parts of the world, the local arm of the company in a particular country would provide information about pricing once the wearable device is released there.
