Basically this update seems to target Samsung’s built-in web browser. The web browser will now be able to support content and ad blocking plugins. This does not mean that Samsung will start blocking ads on your behalf by default, but rather if you do prefer using the default browser from Samsung, you will be able to install plugins that helps you block ads.
One of those plugins is Adblock Fast (also available on iOS) which can be downloaded via the Google Play Store. Note that this update seems to be rolling out to users of Samsung devices who have Android Lollipop or later. So if you have a much older Samsung phone, we guess you might be out of luck.
That being said, we’re not sure how many Samsung owners use the default Samsung browser, especially since Chrome seems to be the preferred browser of choice when it comes to Android. But like we said, if you do prefer the default Samsung browser, then this update might be worth checking out.
