When Harmonix launched Rock Band 4, one of the promises they made is that they would be issuing monthly patches for the game. This isn’t so much that the game is buggy, but rather the patches ensure that everything runs smoothly, and that if there are improvements to be made, they will be made.
However the bad news is that Rock Band 4’s January patch will not be coming. Instead on its website, Harmonix revealed that the patch will instead be delayed until early February. According to Harmonix, it seems that this was due to a bug that they managed to catch, meaning that they had to delay the release in order to fix that.
“We were originally targeting to launch next week, but we caught an important bug (more on that later), and it’s pushed our schedule back a week so we can fix the issue. On top of this, since the update was supposed to be next week, we do not have DLC planned to release on 1/26.” We suppose some gamers might be disappointed, but we reckon the majority should be pleased that the bug was caught before it was released.
Harmonix also went on to clarify what this means for future patches, which they have assured will arrive in a more timely manner, or at least that’s what they’re aiming for. This means the next patch in March will arrive in the first week, and the same will apply to April, and so on and so forth. For more information about the bug and the patch notes, head on over to Harmonix’s website for the details.
