Before Apple took the wraps off the Apple Watch, many were speculating as to what the device would look like. Many had expressed interest in the Moto 360’s circular design and assumed that Apple would be going down that path, but it turned out that Apple decided to opt for a square-ish design instead.
So will Apple keep the design with the second Apple Watch? We guess we’ll have to wait and see, and at least now we might have a timeframe to look forward to. According to a report from 9to5Mac, they have heard from their sources that the second-gen Apple Watch with a full redesign is expected for the Fall of 2016.
They have heard that September is a possible date, and given that Apple typically announces their new phones in September, it does sound like it could be possible that they might reveal a new Apple Watch then as well. That being said, this does line up with an earlier report which suggested that in March, what we might expect is a tiny hardware refresh and that it will most likely be about new accessories and design partnerships for the device.
This is echoed in 9to5Mac’s report where they indicated that the March event will most likely see new colors for the bands, new materials, and new partnerships, but do check back with us then anyway for the updates.
