As you might have heard, yesterday Sony’s PlayStation Network was down and appeared to be down for a good while. So far it seems like it might have been some connectivity or network issues and not a hack like we’re sure many gamers are a little paranoid about, especially following the massive hack back in 2011.
That being said, PSN has been facing quite a fair bit of downtime in recent times, but the good news is that if you were affected by the downtime, your PS Plus, PS Now, and video rentals could be extended. This is according to a post by Sony’s PlayStation Twitter account in which they promised extensions for its users.
According to the tweet, “Thanks for your patience today – stay tuned for details on PS Plus, PS Now, and video rental extensions.” Unfortunately it seems that while the extension was announced, it was not revealed as to by how much longer. Maybe a week, two weeks, a month, half a year? It’s really anyone’s guess.
However Sony did state that they will share details of it soon so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime what do PlayStation gamers think? Is this fair compensation for the downtime? Or maybe you’ve had enough?
