Have you ever gone camping and just wished that you could have a proper bath? We know some people out there need to feel clean, but unfortunately for the most part, that’s kind of what camping is about, roughing it outdoors. However it seems that designer Carina Deuschl might have something you could be interested in.
Dubbed the XTEND, as you can see in the video above, this is a bathtub that is completely portable. How is that possible, you ask? The idea is simple: the frame of the bathtub is collapsible and is made from lightweight carbon fiber that can not only support you, but an entire bathtub full of water as well.
There is also plumping so that if you wanted to, you could hook it up to a pipe and fill it up, although we reckon if you’re going portable, chances are you won’t be using this at home. The entire bathtub when collapsed measures about a third of an inch thick, and based on its size, you should have no problems fitting it in the back of a car, or a really large suitcase.
Sounds good, doesn’t it? Unfortunately its designer does not seem to have any plans to put the XTEND into production meaning that you probably won’t be able to purchase it, but hypothetically speaking, would it be something you might be interested in?
