The $199 Petcube will sport a Wi-Fi video camera that lets you check up on your furkid even if you are halfway around the world, and you can even speak to your pet via the included app, having your voice resonate at home to hopefully see your pets respond in kind. Of course, cats will be less responsive than dogs, and it would be fun if your dog has been trained to obey commands.
The Petcube also does not look out of place in any modern home, as it arrives in an exquisitely designed brushed aluminum case, sporting rounded corners and tips the scales at 1.3 pounds in a 4″ x 4″ x 4″ cube form factor. The 138-degrees wide angle lens allows you to see the whole room without missing a beat, while video is streamed securely in 720p resolution. You can even use the 5mW 3R class laser to tease your cats to chase the dot, although your pooch would most probably ignore that moving light.
